ADMINISTRATIVE DETAILS (Insurance, Fees, Billing & Hours)

Insurance, Fees, Billing and Hours

Unless you have BCBS or Medicaid (see below), my fees are as follows:

Initial Consultation (first appointment): $175 (53-75 minutes)

Individual, Couple, Family Session: $130 (53-60 minutes)

Cancellation Fee: If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice or do not show up for your appointment, you will be charged the full session fee (see above). Cancellation fees can not be reimbursed by your insurance.

I am a provider for BCBS and Medicaid. As a provider for BCBS and Medicaid I signed a contract with them agreeing to accept their fees for my services: BCBS pays $82.32 per 53 minute session; Medicaid pays $77.17 per 53 minute session. If you have a deductible, I will bill your insurance but you will need to pay me directly until your deductible has been met.

For all other insurances, I ask that clients pay me in full at the time of their session either by credit card, check or cash.  I can provide a “paid invoice” which can be submitted to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.  You will need to check with your insurance company to find out how much you will be reimbursed as it is different for each person.  If you do not have insurance or choose not to try to get reimbursed from your insurance, I’d be happy to discuss a sliding fee with you.

I currently do my own billing. I use a billing software called My Clients Plus to submit my claims to insurance companies.  This software is HIPPA compliant and all information is SSL-encrypted.

If you have a copay, I ask that you pay your copay at the time of your session.  I accept credit cards, checks or cash. If you pay by credit/debit card, I will add 3% to the amount to cover the fee for using a credit card.

If you cancel or do not keep an appointment without giving twenty-four hours’ advanced notice, you must pay for the time you have reserved. Insurance companies do not pay for missed appointments.

All accounts are payable in full within 30 days after billing. I reserve the right to collect any unpaid balance due to me. If you are not making regular monthly payments on the account balance, I may use a collection agency or take legal action to secure payment, as authorized by state or federal law, and the collections action will become a part of your credit record. You will be notified in writing before I take action to collect. I reserve the right to terminate treatment and refer you elsewhere for continued care if the unpaid balance exceeds $300.00.

I generally work from 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday most weeks.  I work some evenings although often those sessions are the first to be booked up.
