Barbara Boutsikaris is a Vermont Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Board Certified Professional Counselor, consultant, workshop presenter and university instructor. She maintains a full time private psychotherapy practice and works with individuals, couples, and families in Burlington, VT. She specializes in working with families: single parent, blended, and same sex families with teenagers.

Barbara currently teaches Group Dynamics at the University of Vermont graduate counseling program. She has been a key note presenter and has presented at professional conferences, schools, and to general audiences on topics ranging from self-harm behavior to parenting issues.

A member of the Burlington Chamber Orchestra and the Vermont Symphony Orchestra (flutist) since 1989, Barbara regularly performs with DuoVermont, a flute and guitar duo with her partner/husband Tim Brookes.  Tim is an author, journalist, guitarist and currently the Director of the Writing Program at Champlain College in Burlington, VT.  Together for 19 years, Barbara and Tim have a 15 year old daughter.  Barbara is also the step-mother to her 23 year old “bonus daughter”, a recent graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design who currently resides in Cambridge, MA.
